Dolcetto 2014

Dolcetto 2014

Winemaker Notes

This bright, savory and refined Dolcetto bursts from the glass with notes of ripe plum, cherry, fruit leather, and lavender. These notes translate to the palate with silky tannins that round out the body. A richer, less acidic Dolcetto, the 2014 vintage still offers up the clean and racy style that pairs so well with Italian fare. Drink now or in the near term.

Awards, Ratings, Reviews

Wines of the Week,
Abacela Dolcetto is a perennial favorite with my tasters. This variety from Italy’s Piedmont region has found a perfect home in the Abacela estate Fault Line Vineyard southwest of Roseburg, Oregon. At first the nose is shy, but the bright flavors of ripe cherry and raspberry kick start the olfactory to reveal red and black fruits with earthy mineral, toasty cedar and baking spices.
