Tannat, whose origins lie in the Basque region between Spain and France, has been grown in our estate vineyards since 2004. Earlier bottlings were so remarkable that we expanded the acreage.
Ageing for 21 months in French oak casks has tempered this monster. The wonderful structure, great palate, bold acidity and balanced alcohol means this cellar worthy wine can be laid down for a while.
Complex aromas of brambly purple fruits, fig, tobacco and earth lends itself to food pairings like marinated lamb skewers or roast game.
