Winemaker Notes

*Library Selection*

This vintage ruby style dessert wine was crafted from five traditional Douro wine grapes grown on our estate. Opaque in the glass, this wine has notes of dried figs, blackberries, plums, cocoa, and exotic spice. Fine grained tannins create rich texture and a lengthy finish. Cellar for a decade or more.

Outstanding!, Great Northwest Wine
"Perhaps no one in the Pacific Northwest has as much research, effort and skill invested in their Port-style program as Earl and Hilda Jones, and their latest bottling from their Fault Line Vineyards near Roseburg, Ore., continues that tradition. Andrew Wenzl uses five traditional Portuguese varieties — Tempranillo (48%), Bastardo (19%), Tinta Amarela (18%), Tinta Cão (9%) and Touriga Naçional — and harvested them over a nine-day stretch starting Oct. 2. Fermenetation was halted at 10%, capturing aromas and flavors of chocolate-covered cherries, golden raisins, brown sugar, toasted filberts and Tootsie Roll. The alcohol already is nicely integrated, while slaty tannins add texture. Enjoy with a nibble of Stilton and a Hoya de Monterrey Excalibur Dark Knight."
