Jason Farmer

Jason was born in Roseburg and raised in Camas Valley, where he continues to reside. He lives on a farm that has grapes, berries, and cattle. His early careers included forestry work and plywood mill work. When the recession hit around 2004, he went to Umpqua Community College on a displaced woodworkers college plan. He received two degrees (Business Management and Viticulture and Enology). He started working at Abacela winery part-time in 2006 and eventually in the vineyard full-time, except during harvest, when he would transfer to the crush pad, eventually becoming the assistant winemaker for several years. In 2023, Jason transitioned to the vineyard and is now the vineyard manager.

An avid reader, Jason prefers historical biographies, historical fiction, and some sci-fi. Also a homebrewer, woodworker, and machinist when he has time, which isn’t very often. Likes to spend time with his daughter on weekends and work around the farm. Enjoys the challenge of vineyard management and the challenges that each year brings.
