Drew Tuttle
Drew, originally from Wisconsin, first became interested in wine when he was only 16. A bit young to be hitting the bottle, but this was the age when he was a junior in high school and spending the year as a Rotary Youth Exchange Student in Grafton, NSW, Australia. His geography class had a special project on grapes and wine production in the nearby Hunter Valley region, and he was hooked.
Drew took this interest back to the U.S., where he decided to pursue viticulture and enology as a career. Drew graduated from Iowa State University in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture with a Field of Study in Food Crop Production. Throughout his time at ISU and after, Drew completed internships at a distillery, a meadery, and wineries across the U.S. These included the Midwest Grape and Wine Industry Institute (Iowa), Perlick Farms and Distillery (Wisconsin), and the Lake Erie Regional Grape Research and Extension Center (Pennsylvania).
After graduation, Drew accepted a role as an Intern at Abacela, which turned into a full-time job as Assistant Vineyard Manager/Viticulturalist. Drew loves to be in the vines and help to grow the best grapes in the Umpqua Valley.
