Excellent, "One of the first grapes to come off the Fault Line Vineyards reaps quick rewards. Orange Creamsicle, dusty apple, orchard blossom and lots of river rock notes fill the nose. Huge complexity awaits the drinker with Asian pear, jasmine and lemon curd flavors. For this variety, there's a remarkable amount of acidity and some orange in the finish." Wine Press Northwest
"A dense, mineral-driven style, layered with citrus skins and fruits, notably grapefruit and pineapple. There’s even a finishing lick of honey, though the wine is quite dry." - Paul Gregutt, The Spokesman-Review (May 2010) Full article
"a grand example of just what Viognier is all about"
Review by Matt Meador, The Vancouver Voice
Winemaker's Tasting Notes
Our estate vineyards have proven to be an ideal terroir for Viognier; the 2009 vintage once again granted us beautifully ripe fruit with exquisite flavors and balanced acidity.
As the white pear aromas lift, they mingle with apple, apricot, hints of citrus, and honey. The rich creaminess creates a mouthfeel that frames the entire lengthy finish.
This dry, elegant and concentrated Viognier will drink well for 2 to 4 years. We suggest pairing with a classic dish like roast turkey, or something as novel as spicy maguro sushi.
