Winemaker Tasting Notes
The extremely dry cobbled soils of our estate’s South Face Block in southern Oregon’s Umpqua Valley are the source of this Syrah’s extraordinary fruit extract, lush, broad texture and substantial length.
Complex aromas of crushed black fruit, plum, caramel, earth, and spice evolve with hints of smoke and roasted nuts.
Blackberries, meaty game, and black licorice saturate the palate followed by a rich finish with polished tannins and dense fruit.
This wine will continue to improve over the next seven to nine years. Try it with roasted venison and fennel bulbs with chèvre and pepperoncini glaze.
