Winemaker's Tasting Notes
The somewhat cool 2005 vintage resulted in beautifully ripe Grenache fruit with dynamite flavor and intensity. The finished wine was aged ten months in neutral French oak puncheons and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
This wine features bright aromatics of crushed raspberries and fresh strawberries with chocolate and provencal herb notes. This is medium bodied with a seamless texture. While somewhat reserved the wine does possess the concentration of fruit, fine tannin and acidic structure to age well in the mid-term.
Enjoy at cellar temperature over the next four to six years with adventurous fare like grilled steelhead with pesto-chili crust and saffron polenta.
